January was dominated by adverse weather with 149mm of rainfall equating to 1.5 million litres of rain falling on the site. Coupled with high winds and snow this has made conditions very difficult for plotters. This is being fixed however, additional drainage is being installed to help stop flooding in the areas vulnerable to it.
We did manage to complete the compost area construction was also completed during one of the few breaks in the weather.
Groundworks were completed for our 2 eagerly awaited polycrubs which will be completed when the weather improves.
Much to the excitement of members the final installation of sheds was completed and we are in the process of fitting anchors to prevent them being blown over in the inevitable gales.
All plots now have rainwater storage facilities and plotters have started to capture rainwater for the growing season.
We wish all of our members luck with preparing for the 2026 growing season.
