Ellon Community Allotments has been given a £250 grant to support the continued development of our allotment by Granite Heart. This funding will be used to purchase an electric wheelbarrow, which will help our members to move heavy loads across the site more easily.
This funding was part of the second round of grant giving, a part of the total £2,449 which was awarded to seven local charities, community and voluntary groups across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. In total, £5,138 has been provided to local organisations since the launch of the Granite Heart grant programme earlier in 2025. This funding reflects Granite Heart's ongoing commitment to supporting community-based projects and has been made possible by the generosity of the customers and donors to their Westhill charity shop, along with their volunteers trustees and supporters.
The ECA committee and members are very grateful to have the support of Granite Heart and eagerly anticipate getting our hands on some new equipment so that we can keep working on our plots!
